Things I still need to do
Task One - I've finished all of the content but the website needs organising: I need to write up again the text that is on an images because otherwise the audience won't be able to copy the information directly and I also need to make sure that the content is fixed and doesn't move around on different browsers. Also need to do a quiz!
Task Two - I have finished the database but I need to finish my vlog.
Task Three - Need to finish Flash animation, mention the uses and gratifications theory and add vox pops.
Task Four - DONE (I think)
Task Five - DONE (I think)

LO3: Task 4: Investigate Distribution Channels
1. Detail how the radio show you have studied
is advertised to the audience
Hallam FM is advertised to its audience using a
plethora of techniques. They use a variety of traditional print adverts;
including billboards, magazine adverts, posters, and leaflets and on buses,
cars and taxis. These adverts are placed in public areas to reach the most
amount of people. The majority of the target audience will view these
advertisements during their daily routine; going to work on the bus, walking
through the city center.
They also uses new media, with presence on all
major social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter, have their own
thriving interactive website and a blog. These online methods of advertising
engage the members of the audience who keenly use the Internet. Other online
ways of accessing Hallam FM include simulcasting and streaming the radio shows
using podcasts. These methods engage the audience by allowing them to catch up
on missed shows and access them using different platforms.
Hallam FM also use their sponsors and Bauer’s
chosen charity “Cash for Kids” to gain advertising for themselves. The Hallam
FM logo is synonymous with the “Cash for Kids” logo as they share a similar
colour scheme.
2. Detail how the show is distributed to the
audience
Multiplexing is used by Hallam FM to reach its
target audience. It is the method by which analog signals or digital data
streams are intermingled to create a single signal that spreads over
a shared medium. It is different to traditional print advertisements
as it uses technological convergence - it uses new technology (such as apps on
smart phones and digital audio broadcasting) to get across their message.
